The zoom is a decision you can change later.
Most recorders bake the zoom into the pixels the moment you stop. This one logs where you clicked and when, then builds the camera move afterwards — so every push-in stays editable long after the take is over.
- Retime, restrength, or remove any zoom, or drag its target to somewhere you didn't click.
- Bursts don't stack. Clicks landing inside a zoom already in flight are skipped, so a flurry reads as one move.
- Close clicks link up — the camera pans between them at full magnification instead of yo-yoing out and back.
- Works on window and screen too, not just a browser tab.

The speech model ships inside the extension. Nothing is uploaded, there is no API key and no per-minute bill, and it still works with the network unplugged.

Before you install.
Is my screen recording uploaded anywhere?
No. Recording, editing, subtitle transcription and export all run inside your browser on your own machine. The speech model ships with the extension rather than being downloaded, so subtitles work with the network disconnected. Video only leaves your computer if you explicitly click Save to Google Drive.
How does the automatic zoom know where to zoom?
Every click is logged with its position and timestamp while you record. Afterwards the editor turns each click into a zoom keyframe. Because zooms are applied after the fact rather than baked into the video, you can retime them, change their strength and hold, drag the target, or remove any of them.
Can I record an application window or my whole screen, not just a browser tab?
Yes — a Chrome tab, any application window including non-Chrome apps, or a full display. Click zoom-ins work on all three. One honest limit: clicks are only detected inside web pages, so clicking in another application will not produce a zoom.
Does the 3-2-1 count-in appear in the recorded video?
No. The count-in runs before the recorder starts, so the first frame of your file is the moment it reaches zero. There is nothing to trim off the front.
Can I export MP4 as well as WebM?
Yes. Choose MP4 (H.264 + AAC) or WebM (VP9 + Opus) at export time, along with a quality preset. The dialog shows the exact resolution, bitrate and estimated file size before you commit.
How is this different from Cursorful or other auto-zoom screen recorders?
Auto-zoom recorders make polished demo videos but capture nothing about what the page was doing. Bug reporting tools capture network and console logs but produce plain, unpolished video.
Click & Record does both from one recording, and adds on-device subtitles, which neither category offers.
Do subtitles require an internet connection or an API key?
Neither. A Whisper model is bundled with the extension and runs locally. No API key, no per-minute cost, no upload. Pick a faster or more accurate model, edit any cue, add cues by hand, and download SRT or VTT sidecars.
